The internet’s got SO MANY answers: post more, make Reels, show your face, try another platform.
My siblings in SPAM, when are we supposed to do our actual work?
And if someone lands on your profile but still can't tell what to come to you for, spraying content across the entire internet isn’t the solution.
You’ve built a career across different roles, collected approximately 182.5 skills and done work you’re bloody proud of. People call you a “multi-hyphenate.”
Cool... thanks. Being hired would be better.
Your experience doesn’t fit neatly into a dropdown menu — but “other” hardly does it justice.
And when people can’t see how your skills add up to what they need, you risk being passed over for work you’d be bloody brilliant at.
In Personal Brand Lab, we’ll help you connect those dots—so people stop admiring your “interesting career” and start seeing exactly why they’d hire you.
You’ve done plenty. Deciding which parts matter, who they matter to and how to get that across is where things get complicated.
😕 Your work has evolved. Your introduction hasn’t.
You’re still being known for work you’ve outgrown, while the opportunities you actually want keep passing you by.
😮💨 You're brilliant at several things and struggle to connect them in one breath.
Every introduction becomes the scenic route through your CV — complete with several detours and an accompanying TED Talk.
🫣 You know you can do the work, but explaining why you’re the right person feels like bragging and gives you the ick.
So you hesitate, undersell the good bits or hope people will somehow connect the dots themselves.
🤦🏻♀️ You keep promoting yourself, but the message changes every time.
You keep rewriting your bio and wondering what the hell to post because you haven’t nailed what you want to be known for, who needs to know and why they should choose you.
A strong personal brand doesn’t squeeze your entire career into one neat little label. It helps the right people understand why your particular mix of skills, experience and perspective makes you right for the work you want next.
Before you make more content, you need to decide what you want to be known for, who needs to know and what will give them a reason to believe you.
🤩 Understand what you do — and why your particular mix of experience matters to them.
🤝 Have a reason to trust you without needing the full director’s commentary.
🗣️ Bring up your name for the right work in rooms you’re not in.
💡 What the right people need to understand instead of posting constantly to feed the algorithm goblins.
⚡️ How to explain why you’re the obvious choice without taking the scenic route through your CV.
🏅 Which proof points you can use to make your case — and where to put that message to work.
🏳️🌈 Women, non-binary and trans people + people from queer and global-majority communities
✨ Founders, freelancers and creatives who want to be chosen without having to conform
We’ll make your work easier to understand without sanding off the weird, wonderful parts that make it yours.
PR workshop participant | Educator, writer & performer
I’ve won awards in journalism, corporate communications and marketing. I’ve also been laid off, moved countries, navigated yet another job market and had to explain why the hell all that experience belonged in the same story.
I reworked my CV more than 700 times in 18 months, cutting and pasting lines to make my experience look “right” for each role.
I kept trying to make each chapter fit the job instead of finding the thing connecting all of them.
Eventually, I realised storytelling was the through-line across my 20-year career. It’s what I’ve always done. Only the job titles changed.
Your experience, ambitions and audience don’t fit neatly into a fill-in-the-blanks formula. So across six live sessions, we’ll move from learning the strategy to making decisions about your actual brand—with me there to question your assumptions, help you find the story and give feedback when the answer isn’t obvious.
🧐 A journalist’s instinct for interrogating the evidence
👂 A comedian’s ear for what actually lands
🧠 A strategist’s ability to turn both into positioning, messaging and communications you can use
And you won’t be relying on my perspective alone. Your cohort will help you spot what makes sense, what gets lost and what other people understand about your value.
We’ll question the work, not your worth — with honest conversations, no-filter feedback and brilliant people who’ll challenge your thinking without making you feel small.
You’ll leave with a clear Edge statement explaining what you want to be known for, what makes your approach different and why that difference matters. We’ll pull together the skills, perspective, experience and beliefs that make your work yours, then test whether actual humans understand and remember what you want them to.
You’ll leave laser-focused on who you need to reach for the work + opportunities you want. We’ll get low-key-stalker-level specific about what matters to them, what might stop them choosing you + what they need to understand before you become the obvious choice.
Build an evidence bank of your pics-or-it-didn't-happen anecdotes / data / case studies / testimonials that back up what you're saying about yourself. We’ll pinpoint which of your projects, credits, decisions, wins (or fails, even) directly address the problems keeping your people up at night — and convince them you can nail the sh*t out of the job.
We'll build your Message House: the one central idea you want people to remember + the messages and proof to back it up. These will be your cheat codes to keep serving the same level of magnetic, main character energy at networking events, pitches, talking head Reels or even in your bio without getting lost in translation.
You’ll leave with a realistic, 30-day Visibility Plan covering where you'll show up + what you'll communicate at a cadence that's manageable and won't run you ragged while you're under a ring light. We’ll give every channel and touchpoint a job, measure how they're performing and identify what you can stop doing, because seriously... f*ck those guys who say "just post more."
Now that you know your sh*t, can you get people to give a f*ck? You'll get to flex all the brilliant werrrk you've done during our final week, in a 7-minute presentation to our band of baddies for some no-filter, non-judgy feedback. We'll say our goodbyes, but it won't be sad because there will be Google Slides and you'll be leaving the Lab with a brand that's 100% you and absolutely cringe-free.

We meet on Zoom every Sunday for 2.5 hours. You’ll learn the thinking and apply it to your own brand during the session.
Revisit an explanation or catch up on a session you couldn’t attend. You can return to the thinking as you put it into practice.
Ask questions and get feedback as you develop your positioning, messages and plan — while there’s still time to change what isn’t landing.
Find out what people hear when you explain your work. The group gives you a chance to spot what’s clear, what’s memorable and what needs another go.
We’ll use your experience, goals and examples to build the material. You won’t need to invent a fictional business to practise on.
Practise communicating Your Message to actual humans + hear what they understood, remembered and would recommend you for.
WHAT YOU’LL BUILD
When someone asks for your bio, you’ll have an introduction to adapt. When you pitch, you’ll have relevant proof to draw on. When you sit down to write a post, you’ll know what you’re trying to get across.
You’ll still have to put yourself out there. But you’ll have something to work with.
From £295 | Six live sessions | Recordings included
A clear explanation of what you want to be known for, who needs to know and what makes your approach different — to guide how you introduce and promote your work.
Examples, results and feedback that support your claims, organised so you can find the right receipt when you need it.
The central idea you want people to remember, supporting messages and a revised introduction you can adapt across bios, pitches and content.
Where to show up, what to communicate and what you want people to do next — with priorities that fit your goals and the time you actually have.
I’m a brand strategist, storyteller and stand-up comedian. I help brilliant but overlooked founders and solopreneurs turn their experience into positioning, messaging and communications that give the right people a reason to care.
I also founded Bitches in Stitches, building a brand from one six-woman show into a global femme/them comedy community with 90+ members. We sold out 30 consecutive Hong Kong shows in our first two years.
We’ve been featured in Vogue and Rolling Stone. I was wearing polyester in both. 👸🏻
In the Lab, I’ll help you find the useful connections in your own experience, challenge the bits you’re taking for granted and turn that thinking into language you can actually use.
Frequently asked questions
No. Bring your experience, examples of your work and an idea of what you’d like to do next. Your current bio is welcome in whatever state it’s in.
Yes. We’ll look for the connections between them and decide what matters for the people you want to reach. You don’t have to cram every skill and job title into every introduction.
Recordings are included so you can catch up. Attend live whenever you can: that’s where you can ask questions, practise and get feedback.
The live sessions run for 2.5 hours each Sunday, with time to apply the exercises during the session. You’ll get more from the course if you also revisit and develop your work between sessions.
We’ll build the decisions and messages your content needs to draw on, plus a plan for getting them in front of the right people. We won’t be spending six weeks learning editing apps or chasing trending audio.
